Here is where the PMOI (MEK) martyrs from years 1981 to 1988 were buried. We have come here to commemorate the memory of 30,000 red roses who were martyred by the anti-human clerical regime. Following drinking the “chalice of poison” and accepting the cease fire in the Iran-Iraq, this regime resorted to massacre of PMOI political prisoners and other activists who did not succumb to Khomeini. The United States is set to seize control of a midtown Manhattan skyscraper prosecutors claim is secretly owned by Iran, the US justice department said, though the ruling is to be appealed. MSNBC Interview with now arrested human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh - Iran Tehran 2009 Prominent human rights lawyer in Iran, Nasrin Sotoudeh, has been detained by the authorities. She is accused of spreading propaganda and conspiring to harm state security, her lawyer has said. Ms Sotoudeh has represented Iranian opposition activists and politicians, and prisoners sentenced to death for crimes committed when they were under the age of 18. There has been no comment from the Iranian authorities on the case.
Suu Kyi remained silent following Ko Ni’s murder that has been described by her ruling National League for Democracy party as a political assassination and a terrorist act. She made a rare public appearance at a memorial service for her advisor, who was a prominent Muslim lawyer and critic of Myanmar's powerful military. Ko Ni was shot dead on January 29 outside Yangon airport. A taxi driver was also killed while trying to stop the gunman who was arrested. A court in Iran has sentenced a group of people who stormed Saudi diplomatic missions in January to up to six months in jail. An attorney for the convicts says they were given the sentences for disturbing public order while the defendants were acquitted of damaging the Saudi embassy buildings. The lawyer also says he will appeal against the ruling. Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad came under attack in January following Riyadh's execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr. The execution sparked outrage among Muslims worldwide.
