• Activists of the PMOI pay tribute to political prisoners who were mass executed in Iran's Mashhad

In the name of God It is August 1, 2016. Here is Behesht-e-Reza cemetery in the city of Mashhad (northeast Iran), adjacent to section 22. Here is where the PMOI (MEK) martyrs from years 1981 to 1988 were buried. We have come here to commemorate the memory of 30,000 red roses who were martyred by the anti-human clerical regime. Following drinking the “chalice of poison” and accepting the cease fire in the Iran-Iraq, this regime resorted to massacre of PMOI political prisoners and other activists who did not succumb to Khomeini. The martyrs were buried in mass graves. About 70 of these martyrs are buried in these two rows. On the 28th anniversary of the massacre of martyrs, we vow to bring to justice all the masterminds and perpetrators of this genocide against the PMOI, so justice would p...

April 20, 2009 Walkout at UN conference after Iran president calls Israel 'racist' Declaration of Establishment of State of Israel 14 May 1948 http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Peace+Process/Guide+to+the+Peace+Process/Declaration+of+Establishment+of+State+of+Israel.htm British delegates joined a dramatic diplomatic walkout today when President Ahmadinejad of Iran told a major UN conference against racism that the state of Israel had been founded "on the pretext of Jewish suffering" during the Second World War. Around 20 delegates, including envoys from the UK, France, and Finland stood up and left the room at what was considered an anti-Semitic remark by the Iranian leader, who has repeatedly called for Israel to be wiped off the map. Nine Western countries including Israel and the United States had already decided to boycott the conference entirely because its draft declaration endorsed the conclusions of an anti-racism conference in South Africa eight years ago in which Islamic nations pushed through a text equating Zionism with racism. Even before the walkout, Mr Ahmadinejad's speech had been interrupted by three protesters dressed as clowns who where quickly bundled from the vast conference room at the Palais des Nations by guards. Iran continues to harass journalists, Bahai and others 13 May 2009 Among other human rights violations, Iran continues to persecute members of the Bahai religion, and to arrest and harass journalists. May 13, 2009 The principal representative of the Baha'i International Community to the United Nations reported that seven Bahai community leaders face the death penalty for charges of the spreading of corruption on earth. The seven are Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Mr. Vahid Tizfahm. All but one of the group were arrested on 14 May 2008 at their homes in Tehran. Mrs. Sabet was arrested on 5 March 2008 while in Mashhad. The seven have been held in the notorious Evin prison for one year and are facing imminent execution if charged. The seven are represented by lawyer and Nobel peace prize laureate, Shirin Ebedi.

SOUNDBITE (Farsi) Masoud Shafiei, lawyer of two American hikers Question (off camera): "Does it mean the hikers won''t be freed before President Ahmadinejad''s trip to New York?) "I usually avoid commenting on political issues but anything can happen in politics. As far as judicial processions are concerned, I asked the court several time within the five past hours when I was inside dealing with another lawsuit. I asked again when I was leaving and was told the judge was on holiday and would not be back until Tuesday." 6. Close of lawyer''s hand holding briefcase 7. Wide of lawyer putting briefcase in car and closing the car door STORYLINE After hours inside Tehran''s Revolutionary Court on Sunday, the lawyer for two jailed American hikers said that the second judge responsible for signing the release paper of his clients is on holiday and will not be back until Tuesday. Masoud Shafiei is waiting for a second, key signature on bail arrangements for a possible release of his clients, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, convicted of spying. Asked if he thought the release would happen before President Ahmadinejad''s trip to New York where he will attend the annual UN General Assembly meeting, Shafiei said: "I usually avoid commenting on political issues but anything can happen in politics." "I asked the court several time within the five past hours when I was inside dealing with another lawsuit. I asked again when I was leaving and was told the judge was on holiday and would not be back until Tuesday", he added. Shafiei says one judge signed the documents on Saturday but a second judge has to sign before the bail can be posted. Shafiei was in court again on Sunday, trying to complete the paperwork on the 1 (m) million US dollar bail deal for Bauer and Fattal. The two were sentenced last month each to eight years in prison, and no timeframe has been set for the pair''s release. Iran''s foreign minister said on Saturday the courts are willing to cancel the Americans'' sentences in the "near future." Bauer and Fattal say they may have mistakenly crossed into Iran while hiking in northern Iraq. A court in Iran has sentenced a group of people who stormed Saudi diplomatic missions in January to up to six months in jail. An attorney for the convicts says they were given the sentences for disturbing public order while the defendants were acquitted of damaging the Saudi embassy buildings. The lawyer also says he will appeal against the ruling. Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad came under attack in January following Riyadh's execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr. The execution sparked outrage among Muslims worldwide.
